A startup is making thin-film solar cells on flexible steel sheets. Special sheets for bendable displays will soon hit the market. Dense films of carbon nanotubes store large amounts of energy. Pillowy Antibacterial Polymers Researchers have discovered that if the films coating medical devices are soft enough, bacteria won't stick to them. A cheap polymer material increases the power output of methanol fuel cells by 50 percent. A simple way to deposit thin films of carbon could lead to cheaper solar cells. [1]
