Hemant Taneja and David Danielson lead the clean energy practice at General Catalyst Partners, a Cambridge, MA based venture capital firm. Hemant sits on the board of a number of leading clean energy companies and co-founded and co-chairs the New England Clean Energy Council. David is the founder of the MIT Energy Club, a board member of the MIT Solar Revolution Project, and co-founder of the MIT Energy Conference and New England Clean Energy Council.

HEMANT TANEJA is a Managing Director at General Catalyst Partners, where he focuses on investments in clean energy, wireless, and consumer-focused businesses. Hemant sits on the Boards of Mascoma (cellulosic ethanol), Lumenz (efficienct lighting), Stion (solar), Advanced Electron Beams (electron efficiency), Sand9, Cyren Call, Jumptap, and Quickplay Media. Hemant also served on the Board of SiteAdvisor, a General Catalyst investment that was acquired by McAfee (MFE) in April 2006, and m-Qube (General Catalyst founded the company) that was acquired by Verisgn (VSGN) in May 2006. Before joining General Catalyst in 2002, Hemant was founder, president and CEO of Isovia, a Boston-based mobile software and applications company that was acquired by JP Mobile (MOT) in 2001. Hemant is the co- founder & Chairman of the New England Clean Energy Council, a non-profit organization focused on advancing New England's clean energy economy to global leadership. Hemant holds an M.S. in Operations Research, an M.Eng. in Electrical Engineering & Computer Science, a B.S. in Mathematics, a B.S. in Electrical Engineering & Computer Science, and a B.S. in Biology & Biomedical Engineering; all from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

DAVID DANIELSON is a Senior Associate at General Catalyst Partners where he focuses on investing and building clean energy companies. He serves as a board observer for Lumenz (efficient lighting) and Wakonda (high efficiency solar), two of General Catalyst's clean energy portolio companies. David is the founder of the MIT Energy Club and is a also co-founder of the MIT Energy Conference and the New England Clean Energy Council, where he has focused on developing the Council's Seed Grant and Clean Energy Fellows programs that are now both being adopted by the newly formed state government supported Massachusetts Clean Energy Technology Center. David also sits on the advisory board of the MIT Solar Revolution Project and on the advisory boards of the MIT Energy Conference, the Massachusetts Technology Transfer Center's Conference on Clean Energy, and the Renewable Energy Business Network. David holds a PhD in Materials Science from MIT and a BS in Materials Science from UC Berkeley, where he graduated summa cum laude and phi beta kappa.
