Irene Poh
Senior Business Analyst, Procter and Gamble

Continued from Page 2

By Katie Ford

For the two and half years that she pursued her MBA, Poh’s schedule required strict time management. In addition to her full-time job and school every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., she had hour-long conference calls with her classmates once or twice a week.

Time management might have been a challenge for Poh, but paying for school wasn’t. Procter and Gamble offers a tuition reimbursement program.

“The company sees it as an investment in their human capital,” she says.

Poh’s supervisor, Jeff Goldman, says that a graduate degree is not a prerequisite for success at P&G, but it provides the background and skills on which to build your career.

“Particularly in the analytics environment where Irene and I work, the combination of business acumen and technical knowledge fostered by graduate-level education provides a clear competitive advantage,” says Goldman. “Irene’s leadership, business perspective, and analytic skills have enabled her to transform the North American hair-care analytics program.  … Her contribution has been repeatedly recognized by both her management and business partners, including two stock-option awards in the past 15 months.”
